Benefits of Organic Foods

Organic refers to the way agricultural products are grown and processed.  They are nurtured and packaged without the use of synthetic chemicals, including pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides.  It is a way of looking at agriculture keeping the long term health of the soil in mind.  Our farmland is a thin web of living earth and needs to be cared for.  A grower and processor that is certified organic has had its procedures verified by an independent organization, and they meet or exceed a rigid set of defined standards.

Why Organic?

  • It contains no synthetic pesticides, synthetic herbicides, preservatives, additives, or GMO ingredients.
  • It's great for your health and doesn't contaminate your body or our land, water, and atmosphere.
  • It saves energy and resources
  • It helps protect the health of our future generation.

What's wrong with genetically engineered food?

No long term human-safety tests have ever been conducted on the consumption of genetically engineered food.  Nor has there ever been a thorough environmental assessment to see what happens when these plants are released into our ecosystem.
