Antioxidants Protect Against Vision Loss Want to protect your vision? Antioxidant vitamins can help to prevent age-related macular degeneration (AMD), a major cause of weakened and lost vision, according to a recent study from the Archives of Ophthalmology. A formula comprised of vitamin C, vitamin E, beta-carotene, zinc, and copper proved beneficial. Taking all of these antioxidants and nutrients reduced risk of AMD by 25 percent compared to those not taking any antioxidants. In addition, it proved even more beneficial in preventing eyesight from worsening, with the greatest improvements seen on patients with major retinal damage. |
