Natural vs Synthetic Vitamin E

A recent study in the Journal of Nutrition shows that natural vitamin E is absorbed and prevents platelet aggregation (sticky blood) better than synthetic vitamin E.  Vitamin E is a supplement that everyone should be taking (400-1000 IU daily) for reducing heart disease risk.  Since "sticky blood" can cause clots to form which could lead to a heart attack or stroke, one's choice of vitamin is important.  You can recognize products with natural vitamin E because they are always labeled with the prefix d-alpha; whereas synthetic vitamin E is always shown as dl-alpha.
